Our busy client requires an experienced person to coordinate and dispatch loads, negotiate freight rates, and provide a high level of customer service to their clients. Communication, computer, organization, and customer service skills are essential. Two years experience in the transportation industry, plus inside sales and ability to negotiate rates are important to perform this job but they would prefer freight brokering skills. Candidates who have proven sales skills plus industry exposure may also be appropriate. This person should be self-directed, a good negotiator, able to learn quickly, possess keen business sense and be interested in expanding business relationships. S/he should also be attentive to detail, accurate, an effective planner, able to handle stress and manage time wisely.
Post-secondary education, preferably Bachelor of Commerce with some accounting knowledge, plus skills in the use of MS Word and Excel are required. Past courses in the CITT program would be considered an asset.
