LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB
SALARY: $40,000 to $45,000+
Our transportation client requires an experienced person to manage a fleet of 40 to 50 company drivers and/or owner operators and take responsibility for the performance, profitability and productivity of this fleet. Typical responsibilities include ensuring drivers leave on-time so they can deliver on-time, monitoring individual driver performance and providing specific performance feedback on a regular basis. It requires scheduling drivers for maintenance, safety issues (logs, accidents, etc.), license renewals, inspections, and other regularly scheduled activities. This person will be maintaining data promptly in a real-time system, ensuring drivers get adequate rest and home time, decreasing driver turnover, creating a positive work environment and ensuring adequate staff levels. Our best candidate will be well organized, proactive, able to set daily priorities. S/he will understand crucial issues on wise dispatching, will be focused on core priorities, will be a high energy person, able to handle multiple competing issues. This person should be a concise communicator, able to solve problems quickly, take immediate action to determine the nature and cause of a problem, and implement an effective solution while still in communication with the driver.
Grade 12 graduate with post-secondary relevant education or equivalent experience.
